    First I think it is really interesting that your focus of study is in Canadian Literature, that said there are a lot of idea bouncing around your blog post that are really interesting. One I definitely share your love for learning about places, people and cultures but I appreciate your bigger perspective on your “why” and that is that it will aid students into becoming more productive adults. It’s okay if they don’t want to necessarily study in-depth Canadian literature but taking the time to think, learn, and be exposed to a culture and type of thought that is different than our own is part of what allows us to grow as individuals. And, the language ideas that your shared toward the end of your blog are also helpful and interesting because once again it is imparting critical thinking skills upon students so that they will be better able to work with whatever specified skill/community they choose.
